The European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) conference starts this week on April 22, and iBot4CRMs will participate for the very first time in the annual event. The conference theme is “A competitive and fair circular Europe: The ambition at the heart of the single market”.
The conference is crucial to drive momentum towards the European Circular agenda driven by the upcoming Circular Economy Act (CEA) which will support the Single Market for secondary raw materials, including in Critical Raw Materials.
To this end, the annual conference will bring together multiple stakeholders – industry, NGOs, civil society, policymakers, youth – under one roof to discuss the latest developments in the European legislative landscape and how they all can collectively support a circular European economy.
The high-level event will, more broadly, delve into “ambitions, scope, and policy direction of the Circular Economy Act”, while also exploring associated initiatives such as the EU Bioeconomy Strategy and the implementation barriers that hinder a competitive and just circular Single Market.
This is what we expect for the next two days:
- Day 1: “High-level policy debates about the Circular Economy Act’s political ambitions, its contribution to the Single Market, its global implications, mobilising finance for circularity, and the role of youth in promoting intergenerational fairness.”
- Day 2: “Stakeholder Day” featuring sessions on the CEA and the EU Bioeconomy Strategy, as well as five parallel workshops addressing implementation challenges and enabling conditions. These workshops will cover financing mechanisms, societal and social economy aspects, intermediaries and brokers, public procurement, packaging, the role of cities and regions, and critical raw materials, with specific attention to selected value chains.”
An event such as the ECESP annual conference is beneficial for the iBot4CRMs project because this year also focuses on Critical Raw Materials which our project is working hard to recover from urban waste by applying AI, Data and Robotics. Our presence will allow us to make meaningful connections with the industry, policy and research and innovation realms to enhance project visibility among key stakeholders and bring home collaborations.

In addition, our RECAP cluster partners Wood2Wood project will also be present at the conference. Read about their presence here: Wood2Wood to attend European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform annual conference in Brussels, April 22-23.
We will update our website with blogs from the venue.
